Families are invited to ring in the new year a little early at a Noon Year’s Eve celebration hosted by the Harvin Clarendon County Library on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
The free event will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at the library, located at 215 N. Brooks St., offering a festive alternative for children and families who may not be able to stay up until midnight. The celebration mirrors the excitement of a traditional New Year’s Eve countdown — just several hours earlier.
Participants will enjoy hands-on activities throughout the hour, including making festive crowns and other crafts and writing down wishes for the coming year. The event will culminate in a countdown to noon, welcoming 2026 with cheers and celebration.
Library staff say the event is designed to be inclusive and family-friendly, with activities suitable for all ages. Children are encouraged to attend, but the event is open to anyone looking to celebrate the new year in a daytime setting. Attendees may dress up in festive attire or come as they are.
The Noon Year’s Eve celebration is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
The library regularly hosts programs aimed at bringing the community together, and the noon celebration continues that tradition by offering a safe, accessible way for families to mark the start of the new year together.
