) McLeod Health Clarendon A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for spring 2022. This national distinction recognizes McLeod Health Clarendon’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

“McLeod Health Clarendon is continuously developing plans to improve the quality and safety performance and voluntarily submits safety surveys to Leapfrog as part of our commitment to providing the highest level of quality care to our patients, said Dr. Catherine Rabon,” Regional Chief Medical Officer for McLeod Health.  “We are pleased to continue to see improvements in our Leapfrog grades by receiving four consecutive A ratings. This recognition is a reflection of our teams day to day work to provide excellent care for our patients. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
