McLeod Health Clarendon announces Junior Volunteer Program for Summer 2024. Youth volunteers will have the opportunity to work with healthcare professionals in many areas of the hospital. They serve in areas such as patient registration, rehab services, wound care, medical surgical nursing unit, informatics, women’s services and the gift shop.

"The best thing about our Junior Volunteer Program is that it offers the students an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a health care environment, often discovering future career pursuits,” said Stacy Mosier Director of Volunteer Services.

Teen volunteers must be at least 13 years old by March 1, 2024, with a B average or higher in school, have their parent's consent and encouragement. A letter of recommendation from a school guidance counselor, schoolteacher or pastor and a copy of students most recent report card. The volunteer must also attend a mandatory orientation program at the hospital and have a health assessment (which is required for all hospital employees and volunteers) performed at the hospital at no cost.  A current immunization record is also required.

Teens that are interested in volunteering at the hospital should pick up an application from the Volunteer Services Department from 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Applications must be completed and submitted with a one-page essay explaining why they want to volunteer at McLeod Health Clarendon. Applications must be returned no later than April 26 at 4:00 p.m. No applications will be accepted after April 26.

For more information, please contact Stacy Mosier at stacy.mosier@mcleodhealth.org, (803) 435-5287 or (803) 435-3392.  The number of volunteers will be limited, so please do not delay.
