McLeod Health Clarendon Announces 2022 Nurses of the Year

McLeod Health Clarendon is pleased to announce the 2022 Nurse of the Year and Support Person of the Year Award Recipients: Kim Brunson, McLeod Health Clarendon Registered Nurse of the Year and Jackqulynn Pompey, Support Person of the Year.

All McLeod Health Clarendon staff nurses were asked to nominate a fellow nurse who provides quality, compassionate care while personifying true faithfulness to their profession. The award recipients were then honored during a special ceremony.

“Nurses and nursing staff are an essential part of the healthcare team, and play a vital role in providing an excellent patient care experience,” said Kim Jolly, Chief Nursing Officer of McLeod Health Clarendon. “These women truly exemplify the four core values of McLeod Health – the Value of Caring, the Value of the Person, the Value of Quality, and the Value of Integrity – as well as our mission of improving the health and well-being of patients in our region.”

Kim Brunson, Nursing Supervisor was named Nurse of the Year for being a patient advocate and team player. One nomination said, “Kim goes above and beyond for our patients and staff. She is always ready to jump in and help do whatever is needed to provide the best care for our patients.”

Jackqulynn Pompey, Medical Surgical Technician was named Support Person of the Year for her dedication and service. Her nomination said, “Jackqulynn is a dedicated team member that should be recognized for her dedication to her team, our hospital and patients.”

Annually, National Nurses Week is held during the week in which the birthday of Florence Nightingale, May 12, founder of nursing as a modern profession, is celebrated.

The American Nurses Association, through its state and constituent member associations, advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting economic and general welfare, promoting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and lobbying Congress and the regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.
