McLeod Health Clarendon is pleased to announce the 2021 Nurse of the Year and Support Person of the Year Award Recipients: Jessica Weinberg, McLeod Health Clarendon Registered Nurse of the Year and Yvonne McFadden, Emergency Department Support Person of the Year.
All McLeod Health Clarendon staff nurses were asked to nominate a fellow nurse who provides quality, compassionate care while personifying true faithfulness to their profession. The award recipients were then honored during a special ceremony.
“Nurses and nursing staff are an essential part of the healthcare team, and play a vital role in providing an excellent patient care experience,” said Kim Jolly, Chief Nursing Officer of McLeod Health Clarendon. “These women truly exemplify the four core values of McLeod Health – the Value of Caring, the Value of the Person, the Value of Quality, and the Value of Integrity – as well as our mission of improving the health and well-being of patients in our region.”
Annually, National Nurses Week is held during the week in which the birthday of Florence Nightingale, May 12, founder of nursing as a modern profession, is celebrated.
The American Nurses Association, through its state and constituent member associations, advances the nursing profession by fostering high standards of nursing practice, promoting economic and general welfare, promoting a positive and realistic view of nursing, and lobbying Congress and the regulatory agencies on health care issues affecting nurses and the public.
