Manning Mayor Julia Nelson and two other local woman are looking for help for Carrie L. Hilton, whose home was destroyed by fire Monday. "Everything was destroyed," said Nelson on Facebook. "I'm making this post in the hope that someone will be able to help this family." Joining Nelson in the cause are Ella Dingle and Kim Hilton-Holloway, Hilton's daughter. Nelson said a double-wide mobile home has been donated from Alcolu. "They also need everything you can imagine if your home was destroyed, except clothing, which has been donated," she said. Needed items include furniture for bedrooms, the kitchen and living and dining rooms; kitchen appliances; dishes, pots and pans; a TV; lamps; curtains; bed linens; and towels, among others. Contact Nelson through Facebook by clicking here. Needed items may be dropped off at The Manning Times, 230 E. Boyce St., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, and we will get them to Nelson, Dingle and Hilton-Holloway.
