Mattie Gandy Bryant, 82, died Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Born February 18, 1943, in Leesburg, FL, she was a daughter of the late James Gordon Gandy and the late Ruth M. Gandy. She was a member of Grace Christian Fellowship Church.
She is survived by eight children, Faye Elizabeth Coker (Earl) of Alcolu, Lisa Kay Bryant, Brenda H. Keels, both of Manning, John William Hickman (Margaret) of Pinewood, Allen Gilbert Hickman of Hildebrand, NC, Charles Henry Hickman (Sheila) of Turbeville, William Joseph Hickman (Allison) of Manning and Holly Hickman Wilkes (Brad) of Turbeville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Rowen of North Carolina and Virginia Lewis of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Parker Johnson and Tristian Singletary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Harlene McDuffie.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Murdoch officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Hickman, Joey Hickman, Gilbert Hickman, Charles Hickman, Alex Hickman and Tristian Singletary.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.
