Manning man involved in fatal hit-and-run

A 59-year-old Manning man was riding his bicycle along Moses Dingle Road Thursday evening when was struck by an unknown vehicle and left injured lying beside the roadway, according to Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock.

 “Harvin Watson died from multiple blunt force trauma at McLeod Health Clarendon at 10:27 p.m.,” Mock said. 

Around 9 p.m., an employee of the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office spotted a person lying beside the roadway and called for ambulance, Mock added.

“The Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle with heavy frontend, windshield and side mirror damage,” Mock said. “More information will be released from the Highway Patrol once a make and model of vehicle has been determined.
