The Manning Lions Club recently recognized two local students selected to receive scholarships from the organization.
The recipients were Maggie Epperson, a graduate of East Clarendon High School, and Abriana Georgia. Both students attended the club’s late-July meeting with their families.
Epperson plans to attend the University of South Carolina. She was joined at the meeting by her parents, Bridgett and David Epperson.
Georgia plans to attend Winthrop University. She was joined by her parents, Shaheen Sargent and Joseph Stinney.
The scholarships are part of the Manning Lions Club’s continuing efforts to support local students as they pursue higher education.
Lions Club members Jim Teal, Dave Kelley and Richard Kump participated in the review and selection process. Teal served as chairman of the scholarship committee, and Kelley serves as club president.
