The Golden Pride Marching Band from Manning High School, directed by Jordan Jefferson, recently celebrated outstanding achievements in two major competitions, including a return appearance at the state level.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, the Golden Pride traveled to Dorchester to compete in the Low Country Battle of the Bands, hosted by Woodland High School. Facing five other bands in their division, they received a Superior rating, secured 2nd place overall in Class 2A, and claimed 1st place in Drum Majors, Marching, and Color Guard categories.

The band followed this success with an impressive showing at the South Carolina Band Director’s Association’s Traditional High School Championship, competing in the Class 1A/2A division. They earned a rating of Excellent and finished 4th overall. It was the Golden Pride’s return to the state championships, marking a significant milestone for the band.

“We’re incredibly proud of our students,” Jefferson said. “Their hard work and dedication are really paying off, and they did extremely well representing our school at both competitions.”

Congratulations to the Manning High School Golden Pride for their achievements and dedication throughout the competition season.
