Manning Heart and Soul held a story gathering training event Thursday, Mar. 16. The purpose of the event was to teach volunteers how to gather stories from people in Manning, giving voice to the community and shaping its future. Everyone's voice is important, and by gathering stories, citizens can make informed decisions to reflect the needs and desires of the community. The training began at 6 p.m. and was also available remotely. Manning Heart and Soul is a community-driven effort focusing on what matters to the citizens of Manning.
The coordinator of the event, Carrie Trebil, said “I was delighted with the participation at our story gathering training. This phase is integral to the Heart and Soul model, and we just trained a great group of future listeners and story gatherers.
