Man accused of murdering USC student receives court date

A man arrested following the death of a University of South Carolina student has received a court date on June 9, 2020.
Nathaniel Rowland, charged with the murder and kidnapping of Samantha Johnson, was said to have picked her up after she mistook him for an Uber Driver.
Soon after, her body was found near Black Bottom Road in the New Zion area of Clarendon County. Two days later, Rowland was arrested and charged in relation to Josephson’s death.
Rowland will appear before the judge at 9:30 a.m., and it will be via video conferencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
