Library creates program to assist older adults

Older Adults Training and Services (OATS) program is available now at the Clarendon County Harvin Library. The purpose of OATS is for adults to get together weekly and learn about resources available to them. Some sessions will have accompanying activities. Participants will gain knowledge on subjects that may be of interest to them or topics that the adults may not have thought of before. The program meets every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The May schedule is as follows:

-May 4th- ‘Does it make cents’, the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs will present tips on financial literacy.

-May 11th- ‘How to make sense out of our cents,’ the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs will provide tips on credit reports and repairs

-May 18th- ‘Who’s calling now’, the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs will provide tips on debt collection.

-May 25th- ‘Who’s fixing it’, the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs will present tips on the landlord/tenant act.
