Dear Valued Readers,

Summer is officially upon us, and June is here! The last few months have been busy ones at The Manning Times, and I’m excited to share some of our recent highlights with you.

This month, we published our annual graduation magazine, featuring the seniors from Clarendon and Williamsburg counties, as well as Lake City. It’s always a privilege to celebrate the achievements of our local students, and we’re so proud of all the graduates. Congratulations to these young people for their hard work and accomplishments!

We’ve also been working hard to bring you a few special sections this month. Cats & Dogs was packed with photos and bios of all the animals currently waiting for homes at A Second Chance Animal Shelter. If you’re looking to adopt, be sure to check it out. Plus, we’ve put together our Vacation Bible School and Home Improvement sections, highlighting the ways our community is coming together to nurture faith and improve their homes.

May wrapped up with a busy season for local sports. We had the chance to cheer on the Clarendon Hall, Laurence Manning Academy, and East Clarendon High School softball teams. All three teams made it to the playoffs, and LMA and ECHS both brought home championships! A big congratulations to these amazing, hardworking young women.

As we head into summer, don’t forget to check out our website, manninglive.com, for additional news and announcements, including county and town meeting schedules, agendas, and police and crime news. You can also follow us on Facebook for breaking news and trending local stories.

And speaking of summer, are you ready for lake days? My kids and I sure are! We’re so excited to have the school year behind us, and we’re looking forward to spending the days swimming and relaxing on the porch. I hope you’re all looking forward to some time off, too, and that you enjoy every moment of this summer.

As always, we love hearing from you. Stop by the office to say hello, or give us a call if you have a story you think we should cover. We work for you, Clarendon County, and it’s our privilege to share the news that matters to your everyday life.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer,

Melissa Foust-McCoy
