Laurence Manning Academy closing due to the Coronavirus

Good afternoon, Swampcat Family –

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has announced temporary closures for schools across the state as more cases of coronavirus continue to emerge.

In response to the Gov. McMaster’s announcement and in the best interest of our school and community, Laurence Manning Academy will observe a temporary closure of on-campus learning and activities and will move to our e-learning platform, Microsoft Teams.

Monday, March 16 is an optional teacher-only workday (no students) to finalize e-learning plans and to prepare classrooms for temporary closure.  Laurence Manning classrooms will be open to students and families on Tuesday, March 17th from 9am to 1pm in order for students drop in to collect their books, learning materials, and any needed personal items.   Students will need their books and learning materials.  We understand the inconvenience and apologize, but we will not be running bus routes on these days.  Please make every effort to collect these items at the times specified. If you are unable to do so at those times, please contact your area principal or headmaster to arrange an alternate time.

School will be closed and begin e-learning on Wednesday, March 18 is currently estimated to reopen on April 1. We will confirm the return date later as we learn more.
