FLORENCE, S.C. (December 10, 2024) – The Diabetes Institute at HopeHealth hosted events during the month of November to recognize Diabetes Awareness Month.

The drop-in events were held at HopeHealth in Kingstree (520 Thurgood Marshall Blvd.), HopeHealth in Manning (12 W. South St.), and the HopeHealth Medical Plaza (360 N. Irby St. in Florence). Attendees learned tips on how to improve their health and blood sugar and about rethinking popular drink options. They also sampled some new, healthy recipes and were given recipe cards to recreate the dishes.

Sonda Jett-Clair, chronic disease prevention coordinator, shared, “It’s important for us to provide education and resources to help improve health outcomes in our communities. It can be easier to make positive changes if you have a support system, and we work to provide that support for diabetic and prediabetic patients.”

The Diabetes Institute provides state-of-the-art technology to optimize blood glucose control and prevent complications, such as continuous glucose monitoring devices, remote patient monitoring, and on-site screening for diabetic eye disease.  The Institute also offers resources and educational opportunities to empower patients to manage their diabetes and improve their health.

In order to better serve patients, The Diabetes Institute has recently expanded services to Clarendon County and surrounding areas. Board-certified endocrinologists are now seeing patients at HopeHealth in Manning. Referrals now accepted. We continue to provide expert medical care to diabetes patients at the HopeHealth Medical Plaza in Florence and at our Kingstree location.  Call today at (843) 432-3717 to establish care and take charge of your health!
