Harry Edgar Chapman

Harry Edgar Chapman, 90, widower of Earnestine Morris Chapman, died Saturday, October 3, 2020, at McLeod Hospice House.

Born June 1, 1930, in Gassaway, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Edgar Early Chapman and the late Dessie Virginia McGrew Chapman. He was a member of Manning United Methodist Church, a Mason, and a charter member of Millwright Local 2484 in Orange, Texas.

He is survived by two daughters, Jan Hucks (Ricky) of Florence and Robin Staton (Eric) of Manning; three grandchildren, Meredith Hucks, Madison Hucks and Melissa Beck (Dan); two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Lee Wilson (Richard) and Kay Stone (Marshall), both of Orange, Texas.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Shultz; and two brothers, David Chapman and Harold “PeeWee” Chapman.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Derrick Fort officiating.

Visitation was one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home.
