Georgia officials: Manning truck driver shot and killed in road rage incident

According to several reports, investigators in Georgia believe that a local truck driver died after being shot in a road rage incident. Joseph Lee Briggs Jr., 30, of Manning, died last Friday after being shot multiple times. Investigators report that Briggs was driving a tractor trailer, and wrecked around 6:45 AM on the morning of Friday, April 9, 2021. He was traveling on Interstate 20 near Greensboro, Georgia. The truck crossed from the westbound lanes, across the eastbound lanes and into the woods. Greene County (GA) sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene and found Briggs had been shot. The case was turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. No suspected shooter has been named, and investigators are asking for anyone with information to call them.
