The Manning Times will host its next Fun Friday from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, July 31, inviting the community to enjoy local food vendors, connect with area organizations and support several ongoing community donation drives.
The event will be held at The Manning Times office, 230 E. Boyce St.
Food will be available for purchase from Simply Southern BBQ, which will serve its signature slow-smoked pulled pork, brisket, ribs and Southern-style sides, and 803 Hot Dog Spot, featuring gourmet hot dogs with classic favorites and specialty creations.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet Salvation Army Captains James and Rebecca Sullivan, who recently began serving the area, and learn more about the organization's programs and services in Clarendon County.
Clarendon Behavioral Health will bring its new mobile unit, allowing visitors to tour the vehicle and learn about expanded access to mental health services throughout the community.
In addition to the vendors and displays, The Manning Times continues to serve as a collection site for several local causes. Donations will be accepted for John's Place Shoe Drive, area food pantries including Vizion by Design, Well Watered Ministries and United Ministries, as well as Second Chance Animal Shelter.
The newspaper also will draw the winner of its July subscription promotion during the event. Anyone who purchases a new subscription or renews an existing subscription by Friday will be automatically entered for a chance to win a $100 gas card.
Fun Friday is free to attend, and community members are encouraged to stop by, meet local organizations, enjoy lunch from local vendors and learn more about ways to support organizations serving Clarendon County.
