The City of Manning’s Farm to Table dinner returned Sept. 23, drawing a sold-out crowd to the Land, Parker & Welch courtyard for an evening of food and fellowship. Guests enjoyed a menu sourced from local farms, restaurants and community cooks, with dishes ranging from beef brisket and fried catfish to watermelon gazpacho, homemade biscuits and desserts by Lucy’s Traditional Southern Bakehouse.
The event was a collaboration of city staff, volunteers and students, with the Manning Council of Garden Clubs providing décor and F.E. DuBose culinary students and the Manning FFA chapter assisting with service. Other participants included Amerson’s Nursery, Burger Chick, City of Manning Council and employees, D&H Bar-B-Que, McCabe’s Bar-B-Que, McLeod Health Clarendon, Porter Jack’s, The Grill, the Surette family and Three Oak Farms.
