Empowerment brunch honors trailblazers and emerging leaders

Straight From the Nail Room, the annual woman’s empowerment brunch, took place for their third consecutive year on March 30. The even not only fostered a supportive environment for women to discuss various initiatives but also recognized outstanding individuals for their contributions to their communities and fields. 

Organized and hosted by Dr. Elder Linda Jackson, the event aimed to empower women from all walks of life to pursue personal and professional development.

During the event, Dr. Rose Wilder was honored with the Trailblazer Award, presented by Kimberly Johnson. Sara Jackson presented Jacques Jackson with the Young Professional award.

Additionally, Pailyn Harrison received the Community Service award from Kathleen Gibson.

This year’s brunch featured a diverse lineup of speakers, including a panel discussion comprising prominent individuals such as Sharmane Anderson JD, Amanda McConnell PA-C, Erika Williams GCDF MEDP, Falecia Miller DNP RN, Lt. Cedetria Furman, Brittany Prince MHA DR PH(e), Hope Broadway SPHR SHRM-SCP, Clara Parker TLC, MSgt (Ret) Jamie B Dixon, and Angel S. Reed MSW. The guest speaker, Stacey Brayboy, Senior Vice President of the March of Dimes, delivered an inspiring address to the attendees.

In addition to the lineup of speakers, the event promised networking opportunities and insightful discussions aimed at inspiring women to take charge of their personal and professional lives.

Organizers expressed excitement about the event’s impact and encouraged women from all backgrounds to participate in this empowering experience.
