We are pleased to announce that Jeffrey Barrineau has been selected as Principal of East Clarendon Middle/High School for the 2023-2024 school year. Barrineau is well known in the community as a previous teacher, athletic director, coach, and graduate of East Clarendon Middle/High School. The district will work with Barrineau to ensure a smooth transition in leadership for his official start on July 1.

Barrineau has served as principal at Bates Middle School for the past two years, where he oversaw the school’s operations, which included academics, discipline, school budget and purchasing, safety, and maintenance. Before that, he worked for 5 years at Ebenezer Middle School as the assistant principal, where he was the textbook coordinator, school safety coordinator, and primary discipline administrator.

Barrineau is committed to ensuring students thrive in an equitable environment and a culture where teachers focus on academic achievement. He believes students learn most through collaboration with their peers, staff, teachers, and families. He is familiar with the traditions and practices at East Clarendon Middle/High School and cannot wait to get started in his new role.

He stated, “I am honored and excited about the opportunity to come home to East Clarendon as principal. Being a lifelong Wolverine, I will work daily with students, staff, parents, and community members to ensure we provide quality academic instruction in a safe, positive environment.”

Please join us in congratulating Jeffrey Barrineau as the next principal at East Clarendon Middle/High School.
