A single-vehicle collision on Friday night claimed the life of one individual in Clarendon County. The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Salem Road, near Burnt Branch Road, and involved a single vehicle.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the vehicle, a 2003 Dodge Caravan, was traveling eastbound on Salem Road when it veered off the right side of the road. The vehicle then struck a tree and overturned, resulting in the death of the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
