A Columbia woman was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 301 and Salem Road near New Zion, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol and Clarendon County Coroner’s Office.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway said the crash occurred at approximately 9 p.m. Mar. 22.
According to Ridgeway, a 2010 Honda CR-V was traveling north on U.S. 301 when it collided with a 2016 Audi A3 that was traveling west on Salem Road and attempting to enter U.S. 301.
The Honda struck the Audi on the driver’s side, Ridgeway said.
The driver of the Honda was injured and transported to a local hospital.
Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the driver of the Audi as Debra Delaine Frazier, 53, of Columbia. Frazier was pronounced dead at the scene.
Blackwell said an autopsy is scheduled for this week.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
