Clarendon Hall celebrates poster and essay contest winners

Posted

The Clarendon Soil and Water District (CSWD) held their annual Poster and Essay Contest. All Clarendon County middle and high schools were sent an invitation to participate. However, Clarendon Hall 6th, 7th and 8th grades were the only students who participated in the poster contest.

Since they were the only school that participated, CSWD decided to throw them a Kona Ice party for participating in a local contest! The winners of the contest received a cash prize, a t-shirt and their artwork was displayed at the Striped Bass Festival. The two overall winners’ artwork will be submitted to the state level competition.

The 6th grade winners were Cayden Richburg, First Place, Caydee Hanna, Second Place, and Grayson Holliday, Third Place. For 7 th grade, the winners were Cayla Dixon, First Place, Avery Prickett, Second Place, and Hayden Collins, Third Place. The 8th grade winners were Piper Miller, First Place, Emery Earnhardt, Second Place, and Logan Osteen, Third Place. The overall winners were Cayden Richburg and Piper Miller.

We would like to thank Brooke Brewer for taking the time to help these young people learn more about their natural resources and what it means to them!
