The Clarendon Hall Bass Fishing Team turned in a solid performance at the 2025 Phantom Open held this past weekend on Lake Murray, with two junior angler teams representing the school in the statewide tournament hosted by the South Carolina High School Bass Challenge.

The duo of Troy Phillips and Baylor Rhodus led the Saints, weighing in a 3-fish limit totaling 6.93 pounds. Phillips also landed the team’s biggest fish of the day at 2.82 pounds, earning him the Big Fish award. Rhodus was named the team’s Most Valuable Angler for his contributions on the water.

Teammates Reed Anderson and Bennett Wells also competed, reeling in a single fish weighing 1.84 pounds.

Boat captains Wes Keller and Tony McArthur helped navigate the student anglers through the competitive day on the lake.

“Thank you to the SC High School Bass Challenge for hosting today’s tournament,” the team shared in a social media post. “Also, thank you to the boat captains, family, friends, team sponsors and supporters for your dedication to these student anglers and to the sport of bass fishing.”

Next up, the Clarendon Hall Bass Fishing Team will head to Winyah Bay for their next competition.
