DRUNKENESS IN PUBLIC
On Aug. 31, officers from the Manning Police Department responded to Tractor Supply Company in Manning in reference to a male that was disturbing the employees inside the store. An officer spoke with the store manager who stated that a black male with a red hat and black vest was walking around the front of the store and attempted to ask her a question. The manager did not answer him because she was unable to undertand him as she stated he seemed intoxicated. The manager stated that the male subject attempted to leave out the door with a BB gun but was stopped by the store employees before walking out the door, The manager stated that the male subject walked out the front door and headed towards Dollar Tree a few minutes before the officers arrived on scene. The manager requested the male be placed on trespass notice if he was located. An officer was able to locate the male subject in question and was able to identify the male subject as Donald Walters from previous encounters. The officer spoke with Walters who stated he was not in Tractor Supply Company and that he did not try to take a BB gun. The officer observed that Walters was slurring his speech while attempting to speak with the officer and he had the scent of alcohol on his breath. The officer advised Walters that he would be placed on trespass notice for Tractor Supply Company. Walters was then placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the Clarendon County Detention Center without incident.
BREACH OF TRUST
On Sept. 2, an officer was dispatched to make a phone call in reference to a breach of trust. The officer made contact with the complainant via telephone. The complainant stated that she was having all of her household items picked up from a residence within the city limits of Manning and delivered to Cut Bank, Montana. She said that her items have yet to arrive. The complainant stated that she got a moving company, Frontline Moving & Storage, to pick up and deliver her items. She stated that the items were picked up on May 27, 2024 and were supposed to be delivered on June 27, 2024. She stated that the items have yet to be delivered and that the moving company is not assisting her with the issue. The complainant stated that the items consisted of household furniture, clothes, children’s toys, camping gear, electronics, tools, and more. She said the items had a net worth of $81,550. She requested a report be done for insurance purposes.
SHOPLIFTING
On Sept. 1, officers reported to the Piggly Wiggly in Manning for a reported shoplifting call. Upon arrival, the officers met with the complainant who had the suspect up front at the service counter.An officer identified the suspect as a male named Hernandez. The complainant informed the officers that Hernandez was captured on video shoplifting before and now he has returned. The complainant said Hernandez placed a gray Bic lighter in his front right pocket valued at $1.39 and attempted to exit the business. The complainant said she would like to press charges and place Hernandez on trespass notice. Hernandez was placed under arrest and transported to the Clarendon County Detention Center. A trespass notice was placed on Hernandez.
