Clarendon County man arrested on animal abuse charges

On January 14, 2022, the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office received a copy of a Snapchat video that was posted on Facebook. This video showed a subject snatching a small hound dog by his neck out of the dog box on the back of a pickup truck. The subject threw the dog in a hole and shot it several times while recording the whole incident. This incident was shared by the subject via social media. After viewing the video and investigating its source, the subject involved was identified as Noah Blaine Chandler, 19 years of age. Chandler resides in Clarendon County. 

An arrest warrant was obtained for Chandler for Animal Cruelty on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Chandler reported to the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office where the warrant was served, and he was arrested and taken to the Clarendon County Detention Center. 

Animal Cruelty is a felony and upon conviction, a person must be punished by imprisonment of not less than one hundred eighty days and not to exceed five years and by a fine of five thousand dollars.
