The Clarendon County Junior Chamber has announced Steven Prebish as its new president, effective January 1.
Prebish previously served as vice president of the Junior Chamber and succeeds outgoing president Camlin Wilder. Under the organization’s leadership transition, Ryder Hudson has been named vice president. The remaining leadership structure remains unchanged.
The Clarendon County Junior Chamber is a volunteer organization made up of young men under the age of 40 and operates as an extension of the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce. The group focuses on raising funds through community events and reinvesting those funds back into Clarendon County through service projects, scholarships, and nonprofit support.
“We’re a group of volunteers who raise money through events and projects and give it back into Clarendon County,” Prebish has said. “Our goal is to support the people and organizations that make our community stronger, whether that’s students, first responders, or families in need.”
The Junior Chamber currently has approximately 25 members and meets monthly. Ongoing initiatives include sponsoring students to attend Boys State, awarding annual scholarships, supporting the Turbeville Children’s Home, and partnering with local nonprofits such as the Christian Learning Center and Vision by Design. The group has also organized appreciation events for first responders, including recent meals provided to Clarendon County Fire Rescue and the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office.
Major fundraisers hosted by the Junior Chamber include the annual Taste of Clarendon, the Clarendon Cup golf tournament, and a fall gun raffle, which together fund the organization’s year-round service efforts.
Prebish recently represented the Junior Chamber before Clarendon County Council as part of a partnership with the American Heart Association to donate a blood pressure monitoring machine for public use at the Clarendon County Administration Building. The organization also recently completed a successful gun raffle fundraiser and has contributed financial support to United Ministries Food Bank and Vision by Design.
Prebish is employed as a financial advisor with Raymond James and previously worked in financial services with First Citizens Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications with a concentration in public relations from the University of South Carolina, as well as an associate degree from the University of South Carolina Sumter.
