The Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office reported with deep sadness that Lt. Curtis Hickman passed on Monday, June 29, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia. He was laid to rest last night, June 6.
Hickman was a lifelong resident of Clarendon County, and a graduate of Manning High School. After Graduation, he served honorably in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. Afterwards, he continued serving for 3 years in the Navy Reserves.
Hickman then entered into a position with the South Carolina Department of Corrections, and then into a career with the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office.
Hickman was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years.
“He was a great man, friend, and officer,” said Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley. “He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.”
All arrangements were entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home in Kingstree.
