Clarendon County has appointed Jason Dennis as the new chief of Clarendon County Fire & Rescue, county officials announced.
Dennis, a lifelong Clarendon County resident, will officially assume the role on Feb. 2, 2026.
According to county officials, Dennis brings nearly 25 years of experience in fire and emergency medical services, including more than 11 years with Clarendon County Fire & Rescue. He previously served six years as deputy chief of operations and currently serves as a volunteer captain with the department.
Officials said Dennis’ experience and long-standing service to the county played a key role in his selection.
Clarendon County Administration announced the appointment in a social media post, encouraging residents to congratulate Dennis on the well-deserved promotion.
Dennis will lead countywide fire suppression, emergency medical and rescue operations as he steps into the role next month.
