Clarendon Behavioral Health warns people about new drug

Posted

Clarendon Behavioral Health Services is warning local residents about a risky drug that has been circulating in Clarendon lately. The drug, sometimes called "tranq" is a blue pill that contains Xylazine. This drug is not an opioid. It is commonly used as an animal tranquilizer.

Clarendon Behavioral Health strongly advises the public to avoid this drug. There have been multiple overdoses in the past couple of weeks. The unregulated pills can contain added harmful drugs, unbeknown to the user. Those added substances may lead to overdoses, death, or life-altering damage.

"Tranq" has had a big impact on teenagers and young adults. Please relay this information to friends and loved ones to help prevent more overdoses.
