Posted

The Chamber of Commerce will host a soup, stew, and sweets stroll on January 27th. This is similar to the town’s sip and stroll during the holiday season in that many people will be walking and eating delicious foods along the way. The Chambers sip and stroll will start at 6 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. The event will begin at Weldon Autorim, where the check-in process will take place, along with the first site where a soup, stew, or sweet will be available. There are a total of nine locations where the community will walk and will get to enjoy many foods. The other locations are along the 200th block of Brooks Street at several other houses. The chamber reached out to those along Brook Street with the idea, and many were excited and agreed to share their homes during this event. Tickets for this event are thirty-five dollars and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce. This is a completely new event the chamber has ever done.

We’re going to see how well it is received, “said Jennie Lee, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.

The food will be hosted by local restaurants and caterers in the Clarendon County area.

The city of Manning intends to take down the lights on Brook Street following the event. As a result of keeping the lights up for this event, the community can enjoy this sip and stroll under the City of Manning’s restive and beautiful lights.

“We’re looking forward to being under those beautiful lights, and we believe this will be a fun event,” said Jennie.
