Calvin's double-double wasn't enough to help East Clarendon

East Clarendon’s varsity boys basketball team traveled to Johnsonville Monday night to take on the Flashes. This matchup would be for the Region 7-2A title.

Back on Jan. 10, EC defeated Johnsonville 65-56. That was the only loss of the season for the Flashes to this date. In their second matchup, the Flashes came out looking for a little payback. Johnsonville would lead from start to finish.

East Clarendon did make a run in the fourth quarter but it was bit too late. The Wolverines outscored Johnsonville 20-12 in the final quarter of play. Senior Tyjhai Calvin led the Wolverines with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. Senior Jaquil Wilson added 12 points, and senior Marquis Pearson had 10.

EC has fallen to 17-5 overall and 11-2 in region play with this 67-56 loss to Johnsonville. They will play at Mullins High School tonight at 6:30. The last time these two teams met up, it was an overtime thriller.
