Battle of the Cans

Posted

Manning Junior High and Manning High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) and The Manning Times are going head-to-head in a spirited showdown, but instead of a trophy, the prize is helping local families in need. The “Battle of the Cans” food drive challenges the community to rally behind their team of choice, Manning FFA or The Manning Times, by donating canned goods at designated drop-off locations before the March 21 deadline.

“It’s all in good fun, but let’s be honest—we know the students are going to win this,” said Logan Layne, Manning FFA Director and teacher. “FFA is all about service, and we’re going to show The Manning Times how it’s done!”

Leigh Ann Maynard, publisher of The Manning Times, was quick to fire back. “We love a challenge, but I hope Layne’s ready for an upset! We’ve got the best readers in Clarendon County, and they’re going to come through for us. Pick a side, drop off your cans, and let’s see who really runs this town.”

All donations will benefit United Ministries, Well Watered Ministries, and Vision by Design. Drop-off locations include The Manning Times office, Manning High School, and Manning Junior High School.

Let the battle begin!
