ASCAS thanks supporters

Posted

A Second Chance Animal Shelter wants to extend a hearty “Thank You” to the greater Clarendon County community for their on-going support, especially as enthusiastically demonstrated this past weekend at the shelter’s 3rd Arts & Crafts Extravaganza in the heart of down-town Manning.

After the originally-scheduled event was postponed due to questionable Apr. 1weather (April Fool’s Day did us in!), we all agonized if the new date would bring out the needed crowds to shop our almost 30 vendors. We needn’t have worried!

Augmented by media sponsors Z95.5, 94.7/Rock, 99.3 The Cat, 98.3 Almighty; 93.3 Old School; and 105.9, WDXY with their spot announcements, the support of Clarendon County’s Chamber of Commerce and flyers everywhere, the crowds turned out in droves. Of course, PERFECT WEATHER helped!

Our vendors appreciated the community’s support, plus the shelter renewed old acquaintances and brought our message to many new friends. The ASCAS Arts & Crafts Fair has quickly become an event as important to and anticipated by the public as it is to the shelter!

This message would not be complete without acknowledging the planning, commitment and sheer hard work put forth by the shelter’s staff. To Sherri, Allison, Ashley, Cherie Lynn, and most especially Kim, (who guided us through all this…again!): all those extra hours of your own personal time paid off in a big way! Also deserving mention and credit: Donna and Phoebe, who donated 100% of their sales to ASCAS, and Super-Volunteer Patty: we couldn’t have done it without you!

To our friends and supporters: we know A Second Chance Animal Shelter has a special place in your hearts and minds. So we have more in store for you! Get ready for our BIG YARD SALE on May 20 in the parking lot of our Thrift Store (537 S. Mill St.). And watch for our announcement about the next Arts & Crafts Fair, coming this fall!
