Kathleen Gibson was born and raised in Summerton, South Carolina. She is a retired Clarendon district one educator since June of 2020. Kathleen Gibson received  yet another grant from save the children organization. This was a 10,000 ;  fall covid relief grant. Liberty Hill church was the sponsor for this event. This wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the amazing help from each of the volunteers that participated. This event welcomed everyone and the entire community to come out. “Giving back to the community and helping to supply their needs especially due to the hardships of COVID 19 is the most important thing to me.” says Ms. Kathleen. Everything is all done with love for their community. It is very important to Liberty hill church and Ms. Kathleen to help their neighbors and community especially during these hardships many are facing due to COVID 19. With the graciousness of save the children they were able to give back an extreme amount to their community. They packed 275-300 grocery boxes, each box included nice healthy food and amazingly good meat. There was an amazing number of people who showed up over 275, with that being said this was also a very safe and covid prepared event.  There were about 15 volunteers, each of them were prepared with their mask and gloves. As cars pulled up to receive groceries all they had to do was pop their trunk and the volunteers would then load the groceries into their cars. Making this a very safe way to give back to the community even with the pandemic still in affect. Liberty Hill church and Ms kathleen left feeling overwhelmingly happy with joy giving back so much to their community again. Ms Kathleen and liberty hill church plan to have yet another event on the 29th of january 2021, to continue to give back to their communities.
