Adult nutrition class graduates

On Mar. 26 , K&H Resource Center gathered friends, family, and other community members to celebrate the accomplishments of its participants in the SC State 1890 Research & Extension nutrition class. The event, held at Historic Liberty Hill AME Church, featured music, prayer, and a guest speaker whose inspiring words resonated with attendees.

Ronnie Rhodes captivated the audience with his compelling journey and dedication to community service. Born and raised in South Carolina, Rhodes’s upbringing and family values shaped his commitment to making a difference. With a background in psychology and counseling, Rhodes has been instrumental in various community initiatives, including serving as Santee Wateree Regional Director for the South Carolina State University 1890 Research and Extension.

As the event commenced, Rhodes expressed gratitude to his family, acknowledging the support and guidance he received throughout his life. He highlighted the importance of community partnerships in fostering positive change and commended local organizations for their collaborative efforts in promoting health and wellness.

Reflecting on personal experiences, Rhodes recounted pivotal moments that underscored the significance of leading a healthy lifestyle. He emphasized the role of nutrition in preventing chronic illnesses prevalent in the African American community, such as diabetes and heart disease. Drawing from Harvard Medical School research, Rhodes emphasized the impact of dietary habits on overall well-being, urging attendees to prioritize healthy eating habits from an early age.
