Vance man dies on I-95 in Thursday's vehicle fatality

Marion Jerome Mack, 34, of Vance, died in an collision involving four vehicles around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14. According to SC Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones, Mack was driving a 2003 Honda Accord south on I-95. Near mile marker 100, a flatbed tractor trailer hit a 2015 Toyota Camry, knocking the Camry into Mack's Accord. The Accord then hit the back of a 2002 Ford F-350 truck. “Marion Jerome Mack died at the scene,” said Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock. “Mack was ejected from the vehicle and died from multiple blunt force trauma.” Mack was moving from Columbia to Vance, and he died the night before his 35th birthday, according to Mock.
