Coach John Franklin Thames died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at his home. While researching his life with the help of the Clarendon County Archives and its director, Nancy Cave, manninglive.com staff came across Thames' own yearbooks, in which countless students wrote their praise throughout the years he taught and coached at Manning High School. To celebrate his memory, we have broken down these notes into several galleries, which we will post throughout the weekend.
