Bleasdale-Mahoney wedding

Mary Ashleigh Bleasdale and Christopher Allen Mahoney were united in marriage Saturday, May 21, 2016, at New Harmony Presbyterian Church.

The bride graduated from Laurence Manning Academy and Florence Technical College, where she received a degree in dental hygiene. She is employed with Wesmark Family Dentistry. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Watson Bleasdale Jr. of Alcolu, and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. John B. Tennant Jr. and the late Elizabeth C. Tennant of Alcolu and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. Bleasdale Sr. of Alcolu.

The groom graduated from Laurence Manning Academy and the University of South Carolina, where he received a degree in retail management. He is employed with Santee Cooper. He is the son of John Allen Mahoney and the late Gwen Hardy Mahoney of Manning, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Donald Hardy Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Nathaniel Mahoney.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a vintage lace over dolce satin gown from the Stella York collection. The dress featured a scalloped sweetheart neckline, a beaded belt and a trumpet silhouette, which gracefully flared at the hem. The bride completed the look with a fingertip veil, which was also adorned with scalloped beaded lace. She carried a traditional round bouquet of white hydrangeas and pale pink garden roses, wrapped in a monogrammed antique handkerchief.

Dr. Gordon K. Reed and the Rev. Michael R. Lowder officiated at the ceremony, where music was provided by Mary Alice Hoyt, harpist, and Dr. Elizabeth Patrick DuRant and Lisa H. Patrick, vocalists.

Anna Elizabeth Bleasdale and Elizabeth McGill Brok served as maids of honor.

Bridesmaids included Alison Paige Coleman, Kristen Ashleigh Hubbard, English Day Mishoe, Kelly Floyd Stone, Cecily Taylor Rogers and Celia Burgess Wilson.

Tyson Annette Bradshaw served as flower girl.

John Allen Mahoney, father of the groom, served as the best man.

Groomsmen included Roy Edwin Belser Jr., Oliver Johnson James, Christopher Reid Evans, Grant Paul Goff, William Austin James, Hugh Eric Mahoney and Gilbert Toy McCord Jr.

Sage Randolph Bradshaw served as the ringbearer.

The rehearsal party was given by John Allen Mahoney, father of the groom, and friends and family at Wyboo Meeting Center.

The reception was given by the bride’s parents at the O’Donnell House in Sumter.

After a honeymoon trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple now resides in Alcolu.
