Shelter thanks supporters for successful Lasagna Dinner and Silent Auction

Thanks to all the businesses and individuals who supported the Second Chance Animal Shelter’s annual Lasagna Dinner and Silent Auction. The event raised much-needed funds to support shelter’s programs. Chef Ted Brownell and his sous chef, Freda Bardun, prepared the delicious meal. Catering for All Occasions, Clay Clark, June Drost, Carolyn Moynihan, Chris Mehmet, Lois Neiford and Margaret Shreve prepared desserts. Volunteers – from ticket sales to clean up — also included Barbara and Gary Adams, Sherri Arment, Diana Armstrong, Teresa Avant, Gene and Joan Barber, Vickie Brownell, Pat Butzer and Sandy Seelbach, Cherie Fulton, Carol Gallagher, Janet Goodwin, Maria Hutson, Kay Kready, Rob Little, Richard and Karen Long, Janet Meleney, Sherree Meyer, Marion Pickens, Dennis and Rosemary Warner, Steve Warshauer, Patty Whetsell and Dee Wilson. Vickie Brownell and Linda Keefer created the beautiful dog quilt, which was won in a drawing. Diane Ambroggio donated a weekend at her beach house for the silent auction. The Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach contributed tickets to their production One the Show. The Cypress Foundation donated tickets to Cypress After Five events. Dr. Marva Williams donated elegant dinner and dessert plates. Weldon Auditorium donated Clint Black tickets. We also had a number of anonymous donations. A Second Chance is very grateful to everyone who supported us. The proceeds of this event will help us continue to care for the homeless and stray dogs and cats in Clarendon County, provide low-cost spays and neuters for the public, and find rescue organizations to transport hard-to-place dogs to other areas.
