The National Weather Service in Columbia issued a special weather statement Friday afternoon for Clarendon County, saying that "potential exists for light icing on elevated surfaces." Temperatures are expected to remain nearly steady or drop a degree or two into the lower to middle 30s. The best chance would be for areas along and north of Interstate 20. Some light icing will be possible mainly on elevated surfaces such as trees, powerlines, decks and bushes. Roadway and bridge temperatures across the midlands are currently in the middle to upper 30s. Roadway and bridge temperatures could drop one to two degrees. Expect conditions to remain at least cold and wet. Motorists should drive with caution due to the wet conditions.
