Woman says suspect threw sandwich, hit her in head

A 32-year-old woman called the police Tuesday afternoon to complain that a customer threw a sandwich at her. "We get some bizarre calls," said Police Chief Blair Shaffer. "I think this is one of the most bizarre we've probably gotten in a while." The victim told police about 12:31 p.m. that a 30-year-old woman came inside the restaurant, located in the 1900 block of Paxville Highway, snatched her sandwich out of her hand and threw it, hitting her in the left side of the head and causing mustard to go in her hair and over her shirt. The woman said the suspect then told her to come outside and left in a burgundy SUV. She said she had been eating inside the restaurant with her infant during the incident, and that she'd been having ongoing problems with the suspect since she began dating the suspect's ex-boyfriend. Police told the victim they would look into seeing surveillance video at the restaurant, and advised her to get a restraining order from Magistrate's Court.
