U.S. Navy Seaman Jonathan Barnes, 21, had not been home for 10 months when he surprised his sister, Summer, last week at Clarendon Hall. Summer, 16, a sophomore at the school, was eating lunch when her older brother walked in and surprised her. The tearful reunion was "a long time coming," the elder Barnes said. "We are very close," said Jonathan. "She had no idea I was coming, and I wanted to surprise her. I haven't been able to talk to her since I've been deployed." The Manning High School graduate, who attended Clarendon Hall himself when he was younger, is currently stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. "I'll be there for two years," he said. Jonathan surprised Summer on Thursday, and said he will have to return to Hawaii Wednesday. "I'm just so happy to have him home," Summer said through tears. "I thought I saw him through the window walking up, but then nothing happened so I was sad. We're really close and I'm just so happy right now."
