Laurence Manning Academy fourth-grade student Nathan Phan placed third in the South Carolina Independent School Association Spelling Bee held recently at Williamsburg Academy. He was one of 16 students competing in the fourth-grade category. He first competed in the LMA Spelling Bee to make it to state. Then, he placed in the Top 2 for the fourth-grade at the Regional Spelling Bee at Wilson Hall.
