Manning Fire Chief Mitch McElveen said firefighters were toned out earlier to a possible gas leak at the old Belk Building on North Brooks Street, which is owned by Bobby Wilson.
"They have cut off the gas and there is no danger," McElveen said. "They were trying to assess where the leak was coming from."
