Saints fall to Richard Winn

Summerton - Clarendon Hall lost to Richard Winn by a score of 57 to 14 on Friday night. This was a tough night for the Saints on Homecoming with injuries and turnovers being too much to overcome for the home team. The Eagles scored on the opening drive of the game with a 61 yard TD pass.   The Saints then turned the ball over on three of their first four possessions with lost fumbles giving Richard Winn good field possession each time.  The Eagles took full advantage, scoring a touchdown off each turnover.  The Eagles then scored on another long TD pass with 0:34 left in the half to take a 37 to 14 halftime lead. In the second half, Clarendon Hall could not get anything going to get back into the game.   The Saints went 3 & out on their first two possessions to open the second half.  The Eagles scored on their first two possessions to put the game out of reach.  Another turnover by the Saints, an interception this time, led to the final touchdown by the Eagles. For the Saints, Daniel Pappas rushed 12 times for 92 yards and a 2pt conversion.  Gavin Allan rushed 5 times for 27 yards and a TD before going out with an injury in the 2nd quarter. Dustin Way rushed 9 times for 51 yards and went 4 for 8 passing for 53 yards with 1 interception. Cody Armstrong also had a TD run. On defense, the Saints were led by Trey Thomas with 11 tackles and Mac Davis with 9.  Ryan Morris added 7 and Daniel Pappas and Gavin Allan each had 6. The Saints fall to 3-1 on the season, 2-1 in the region.  The next game is at Wardlaw on Friday at 7:30 pm.
