The Clarendon County chapter of the South Carolina Waterfowl Association grossed over $35,000 Saturday night during its annual conservation dinner and auction at The Cypress Center. With raffles, a seafood dinner and an auction, the packed house was a testament to the community's desire to support wildlife conservation and preserve waterfowl habitats. Director of Chapter Development Mac Bagnal praised the efforts of the 63 sponsors, and the dedication of all the committee members. "Their hard work made this possible," he said. The non-profit S.C. Waterfowl Association was founded in 1986 by David Wielicki, to ensure the natural realm remains pristine for future generations, and to maintain and manage waterfowl habitats while also educating the next generation of outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen.
