Sen. Tim Scott, R-SC, honored Vietnam veterans on Saturday at a special ceremony at First Baptist Church in Columbia, with 10 servicemen from Clarendon County as part of the honorees. More than 2,500 people attended the event, which sought to send one message to veterans: "Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten." "What a wonderful day to be in the presence of so many men and women who put their lives on the line for our nation and the cause of freedom during the Vietnam War," Scott said. "It was an honor and privilege to be in a room full of real American heroes and to recognize them for their service. Those honored included Orland Harkins; Jersey Logan; Gerald H. Raymond; Charles M. Walsh; Leroy James; Robert L. Levy; Jersey J. Logan; William C. Shotwell; Gunter Sweat and James E. Wilson.
